Converse Trainers
Converse All-Stars are a range of canvas trainers that are hugely popular. They have been in production for over ninety years and were originally produced for basketball. They finally managed to break into the sport when the popular basketball player Chuck Taylor started to wear them when he was playing. He had some involvement in developing the design of the shoe and he also gave his name to be used with it.
Converse trainers are now widely available and still hugely popular. There is a huge range available ranging from hi-tops to low-tops and a huge range of colours and designs. The explosion in available colours came in the sixties when people wanted them to match their particular basketball team. They also started producing them in other materials such as leather and suede.
The company was taken over by Nike in 2003 and it is still available as it ever was. It has long been associated with popular culture and musical movements such as punk and grunge with musicians such as Kurt Cobain wearing them.
Cheap Converse trainers are still the most successful mens trainers ever. They have sold almost one billion pairs around the world.
