New Balance Trainers

New Balance is a US manufacturer of men’s trainers and sportswear. It has been in existence for over one hundred years and is well respected the world over. They are still producing much of their product in the US which is quite rare as most of the manufacturers produce in the far east. They also produce in the UK.

The company was founded to produce arch supports for men’s feet. They moved into producing mens trainers size 11 in the sixties and started producing new balance trainers for runners. Their first running shoe was ground breaking in the sole design as well and providing varying widths. It rapidly became the favourite of many runners.

In the early days, they didn’t spend a lot of money on marketing and relied on word of mouth. This started to affect sales as business struggled in the seventies.

Fortunes changed for the business in the late seventies as the Boston region where the company is based was at the fore front of the global running boom. They expanded the new balance trainers that they offered and the business started to boom.

The company still provides its running shoes with width offerings it is still one of only a few companies that offer this. The give their new balance trainers numbers rather than names and the numbers change when ever they are redesigned.

The production facilities in the USA and UK serve to manufacture all of the men’s trainers that are sold around the world. They are among the market leaders in advanced running shoes.
