Adidas Trainers

Adidas is the second largest sportswear manufacturer in the world behind Nike. They are a German company and also own other brands including Reebok and Rockport. They produce a huge range of adidas trainers and other mens sportswear and accessories. As with its major competition, Adidas have a very well known logo. The logo features three bars next to one another and it is recognisable even without the name of Adidas.

Although they are the second largest company globally, they are the largest is Europe with a global turnover of well over $15 billion. The company was formed in the forties as a result of two brothers falling out. One of the brothers setup Adidas and the other setup Puma.

There are a huge range of mens Adidas trainers available along with other sports footwear. They produce some classic pairs such as the Adidas samba and the shell toe. These shoes have a lot of great retro appeal and the shell toe have a huge link to the hip hop community. Run DMC an eighties rap group even released a track as homage to the brand called ‘My Adidas’.

Like many of its rivals, Adidas has had a long association with sports and celebrity. They produced a range in collaboration with Stella McCartney in 2004 which received a huge amount of praise. They are often involved in many major sports events including the Olympics and the world cup. The company provides kits for many major global football teams including France, Germany and Mexico. They produced the groundbreaking Adidas predator football boot. They are the sole producer of sportswear for the NBA.

The company has maintained its German head office but has production and design bases around the world. As well as being able to purchase their product from many sportswear outlets around the world, the company now has many of their own “sports boutiques”.
