Adidas Stan Smith were originally designed as a tennis shoe in the seventies. The name comes from Stan Smith who was a famous tennis player in the sixties. They have evolved through the years but are still based on the original basic design. It is comprised of a simple leather design and unlike all other Adidas Trainers, they don’t feature stripes. The shoe features three rows of small holes in the shape of three stripes.

The original design was a basic white shoe. They have remained a popular pair of mens trainers over the years and many variations have been released. Although they were originally designed as a tennis shoe, they are worn mainly for fashion these days and have a huge retro appeal.
